Prefer to type instead of talk? Rylo Desktop can speak your typed messages into the call, so the other person hears you.
How it works
Type your message in the text box in the caption window and press Enter. It shows up in your transcript as your turn.
If the Rylo Microphone driver is installed, your message is also spoken into the call using the voice you picked in Settings → Voice.
One-time setup: the Rylo Microphone driver
Type-to-speak needs a small driver called the Rylo Microphone. It's what lets your typed messages reach the call. Install it from Settings → Driver.
On a Mac, you'll be asked for your admin password, because installing briefly restarts a system audio service. It only takes a few seconds, and you only need to do it once.
You can't install or update the driver during a call. Do it before you join or after you hang up.
I don't see a text box during my call
This means the driver isn't installed yet or needs an update. Go to Settings → Driver to install or update it.
Rylo Desktop hides the text box on purpose, so you never type into a call where no one would hear it.
Using a Bluetooth headset?
Some Bluetooth headsets stop picking up your voice once type-to-speak is on. If that happens, switch your input to your computer's built-in microphone. Learn more about Bluetooth headsets and type-to-speak.
