The first time you set up Rylo Sidekick, you're asked: "Are you comfortable using your voice to speak on calls?" Your answer changes what Sidekick asks of your Mac, and how you'll interact with it during a call.

You'll speak normally on your calls, and Sidekick captions what everyone says — you and the other participants. Sidekick will ask for Microphone access so it can pick up your voice.

You'll type your side of the conversation instead of speaking, and Sidekick speaks it out loud for you. Sidekick won't ask for Microphone access at all in this case — it isn't needed, since your side of the conversation comes from typing, not your voice. You'll still see live captions of what the other participants say.

Yes — this isn't locked in during setup. You can update your preference anytime from Settings, and Sidekick will adjust what it asks of your Mac (like Microphone access) to match your new choice.
