How to use Quick Replies and set up an intro message

Use Rylo's quick replies feature to quickly communicate with a single tap.

Streamlining Communication with Rylo's Quick Replies

Typing is great, but it's not always the fastest way to communicate. That's why we created Quick Replies. This feature lets you send full sentences with a single tap!

Using and Modifying Quick Replies:

Using quick replies is easy. We've created standard replies, but you can modify them to meet your needs.

Here are some examples of what you can do with quick replies:

  1. Tell callers you are using text to communicate and ask them to be more patient.

    1. Example: "Hello, this is Sally. I'm using text to communicate. Please be patient while I type and don't hang up."

  2. Auto-answer calls without speaking or typing your intro message

  3. Quickly ask callers to repeat what they said

  4. Ask callers to hold on while you are typing or reading their response

How to modify your quick replies:

  1. Launch Rylo, and tap 'Settings'

  2. Tap on 'Call Preferences'

  3. Tap on 'Quick Replies'

  4. From here, you can customize your quick replies:

  5. For each custom response, you can:

    1. Edit and customize the reply

    2. Show it during calls by default

    3. Send immediately as the call starts

How Quick Replies work during a call

Once you're in a call, here's how each reply works:

  • Intro message - this is built right into the text field. As soon as a call starts, you'll see it ready to send with one tap

  • Please repeat - press and hold on any message to bring up a Repeat button

  • Hold on, I'm typing - this one is automatic! Rylo will let the other person know you're typing whenever you start writing, so you don't have to do anything

A note about the intro message

For the intro message to appear, you'll need Caption My Speech enabled in your call settings. You can turn it on by going to Settings > Call Preferences and toggling on Caption my speech. Need help with that? Here's a quick guide to enabling two-sided captioning.
