I am getting unwanted spam calls to my Rylo app. What can I do?

Learn what you can do to stop spam calls

How To Stop Scam Calls

Nobody likes spam calls - especially not us. That’s why we’ve baked in a spam filter in the Rylo app. Additionally, it’s important to ensure that important calls, such as those from a doctor’s office, are not mistakenly blocked.

Managing spam calls involves using app features to block unwanted calls, allowing important numbers, and distinguishing between spam and genuine calls. Most apps, including Rylo, offer built-in tools to help users manage these issues effectively.

Rylo Spam Filter Settings:

To turn on Spam Filtering, just tap into “Settings,” then toggle on “Block Spam Calls” to make sure you don’t receive any unwanted calls! For more detailed navigation, go to Settings > Call Preferences and toggle on "Block Spam Calls." This feature helps reduce robocalls and silent spam calls effectively.

Adding a number to your phone’s contact list can help ensure it is not flagged as spam. This is a simple yet effective way to ensure important calls are not missed.

If your app supports it, you can manually allow specific numbers by navigating to the spam or block settings and adding the number to an "Allowed" list.

Blocking specific numbers on Rylo:

If you turned on spam filtering, but you are still getting unwanted calls, you can also block specific numbers from calling you.

If important calls are being blocked, you can temporarily disable the spam call blocker by navigating to Settings > Call Preferences and toggling off "Block Spam Calls."

To block someone from calling you, simply tap the ( i ) icon next to their contact name or number, then tap "Block this caller". In some apps, spam calls are marked with a specific color or label (e.g., red entries in the Recents tab), making it easier to identify them.

You can always manage your blocked contacts via Settings > Phone Number > Blocked contacts. Spam or robocalls often have automated, generic, or delayed responses, whereas genuine callers respond naturally and contextually.

While spam filters are effective, they may not catch all spam calls, and some genuine calls may be misidentified. Understanding these limitations can help users manage expectations.

If spam calls persist or important calls are still being blocked, consider contacting your carrier for additional tools or services. Also, review your app settings to ensure they are configured correctly.
