Rylo Sidekick isn't detecting my call
If Sidekick doesn't pop up a notification for your call, you can always start captioning yourself — and a couple of quick checks usually fix detection going forward.
Start captioning manually right now
Click Start transcribing from the Sidekick home screen, or choose Start Session from the menu bar icon. This works for any call, whether or not Sidekick recognized it.
Check your Accessibility permission
This is the most common cause. Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility and confirm Rylo Sidekick is toggled on. Without it, Sidekick uses a less precise fallback that recognizes fewer apps and can miss some calls. See Setting up Rylo Sidekick's permissions for details.
Check the app you're calling in
Sidekick recognizes Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Slack Huddles, FaceTime, Google Meet, Discord, and Webex, in both their desktop and browser versions. Calls in other apps won't be auto-detected — start captioning manually instead.
Still not working?
Quit and reopen Rylo Sidekick, then try again. If it still doesn't detect your calls, contact us and let us know which app you're calling in.
