Getting an AI summary of your call

How Rylo Sidekick's automatic, on-device call summaries work — topics, decisions, and action items after every call.

Getting an AI summary of your call

Once a captioned call ends, Rylo Sidekick automatically generates a short summary — a title, the topics discussed, any decisions made, and action items — right on your Mac.

Where to find it

Open the transcript for that call — the summary appears at the top, above the full transcript.

What's included

  • A short, descriptive title for the call

  • Key topics discussed

  • Any decisions that were made

  • Action items, noting who they were assigned to when that's clear from the conversation

Regenerating or copying a summary

Use Regenerate if you'd like Sidekick to try again, or Copy to paste the summary elsewhere — into an email or your notes app, for example.

Is this processed on my Mac or in the cloud?

Entirely on your Mac. Summaries are generated on-device — nothing about the content of your call is sent anywhere to produce them.

What if a summary can't be generated?

Occasionally a summary won't generate — very short calls, for example, may not have enough content to summarize. Your transcript is still saved either way, just with a title based on the date and time instead.
