Here's how to start, pause, and end captions during a call.
Starting a session
You can start captions in a few ways:
Click Start transcribing on the Rylo Desktop home screen.
Click Start captioning on the card that pops up when a call is detected.
On a Mac, choose Start Session from the menu bar icon.
Captions start within a few seconds.
Pausing and resuming
Click the pause button in the caption window. Your session stays open, so nothing is lost.
Click the same button to pick up where you left off. Your transcript and call timer carry on from where they paused.
Ending a session
Click the red End Session button in the caption window. Rylo Desktop goes back to the home screen and creates a summary of your call a few seconds later.
Do I have to end it myself?
Usually not. When you hang up in Zoom, Teams, or another app, Rylo Desktop notices and ends the session for you.
Ending it yourself is handy if you want to stop captions but stay on the call, or if you're using an app Rylo Desktop can't watch for a hang-up.
