Connect Google Calendar and Rylo Sidekick will give you a heads-up shortly before your meetings start — and can optionally start captioning automatically, so you're never scrambling to open the app after a call has already begun.

Go to Settings → Calendar and click Connect. You'll be asked to sign in to Google and grant calendar access — Sidekick only reads upcoming event details (title, time, and any meeting link); it doesn't edit your calendar or read events from the past.

About a minute before a meeting on your connected calendar starts, a small card appears showing the meeting title and which app it's likely to happen in (Zoom, Teams, Webex, or a generic "Conference link"), along with a countdown. Dismiss it and it won't reappear for that meeting, even if it gets rescheduled.

No — Sidekick never joins a meeting on your behalf. The calendar heads-up only prepares Sidekick to start captioning quickly once you actually join. If your computer was asleep and wakes up well after a meeting was scheduled to start, Sidekick won't try to auto-start a session for a meeting that's likely already over.

Go to Settings → Calendar and click Disconnect at any time — Sidekick stops syncing immediately and forgets your connected calendar.
