How to download and install Rylo Desktop
Rylo Desktop installs like any other Mac app — download it, drag it into Applications, and open it.
Go to rylo.com/sidekick and click Download for Mac.
Open the downloaded file (it will look like Rylo Desktop.dmg) — a window will pop up showing the Rylo Desktop icon.
Drag the Rylo Desktop icon into the Applications folder shown in that same window.
Open your Applications folder and double-click Rylo Desktop to launch it for the first time.
"Apple could not verify this app" warning
If macOS shows a warning the first time you open Rylo Desktop, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down, and click Open Anyway next to the Rylo Desktop message. You only need to do this once.
What happens on first launch?
The first time you open Rylo Desktop, it will walk you through signing in, granting a few Mac permissions, and downloading a small on-device language model — this only happens once. See How to sign in to Rylo Desktop and Setting up Rylo Desktop's permissions for what to expect at each step.
